SEACHEM REEF STRONTIUM 250 mL
- Restores and maintains strontium to levels found in natural seawater
- Strontium gluconate
- Concentrated (10,000 mg/L
Overview
Strontium occurs in natural seawater at a concentration of about 8 to 10 mg/L. It is chemically very similar to calcium, and many organisms incorporate it in their skeletons along with calcium. Its addition to reef aquariums aids the growth of corals, coralline algae and other organisms that lay down a calcereous skeleton or shell, including tridacnid clams.
Reef Strontium™ is intended to restore and maintain strontium to levels found in natural seawater without affecting pH. Strontium is utilized in the same manner as calcium and holds a similar importance in maintaining a vigorous level of growth.
Reef Strontium™ contains 10,000 mg/L of available strontium as a gluconate complex. Gluconate complexation confers several benefits: it increases the bioavailability of the strontium, it provides a rich source of metabolic energy to help maintain peak coral growth, and it inhibits strontium precipitation/alkalinity depletion. Gluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus it is biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system.
Directions
Beginner
Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 US gallons) twice a week.
Advanced
Check strontium level (use Reef Status™ Strontium to test strontium levels), then follow addition regimen above until strontium is adjusted to 8–12 mg/L. Each 5 mL/80 L will raise strontium by about 0.6 mg/L. Quantity or frequency can be adjusted as required to maintain strontium.
Expert
After determining the strontium consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula (or skip the math and use our Dosage Calculator) to determine how much to add to your top-off water: m=0.1vs (m=mL of product to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in liters, s=amount to raise strontium in mg/L). For example, if you want to raise strontium by 2 mg/L in a 200 liter tank, then you would add 0.1x200x2=40 mL into the top-off water. [For reference: 1 gallon=3.8 L].

Betta Basics™ is designed to provide the optimal environment for both betta and plant. Betta Basics™ removes any chlorine, chloramine and detoxifies ammonia. It buffers the water to a pH of 7.0 and provides a healthy environment for fish and plant. Feed NutriDiet® Betta Pellet Food for optimal fish health.
Directions
Use with each water change. For best results also use 2–3 times per week. Add 1 capful (5 mL) per each 1.25 L (1.25 quarts) of water. In Betta-only bowls (i.e. no plant) use 1 capful per 4 L (1 US gallon) with water changes.
| Overview
Safe™ is the complete and super-concentrated dry conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Safe™ removes chlorine, chloramine and detoxifies ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. It is non-acidic and will not impact pH. A further bonus for the reef hobbyist—Safe™ will not over-activate skimmers.
Safe™ may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. It contains a binder which renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water. When transporting or quarantining fish, use Seachem StressGuard™. When adding new fish, use Stability®. Both are ideal for use with Safe™.
Directions
May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite and nitrate in an emergency, up to 4 times normal dose may be used. If temperature is > 30 °C (86 °F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.
50 gramUse 200 mg of Safe™ (included scoop) per each 200 L (50 US gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or per 50 L (13 US gallons) for ammonia. NOTE: These directions supersede all other prior packaging. All other sizesUse 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 1,250 L (300 US gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 300 L (75 US gallons) for ammonia. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale. NOTE: These directions supersede all other prior packaging. | Overview
Gold Salt™ is designed to provide the optimal environment for all goldfish species. The use of Gold Salt™ also aids in the prevention of nitrite poisoning. The salt is also well suited for routine aquarium freshwater use. It does not impact pH or provide buffering. For pH control use Gold Buffer™. For dechlorination use Gold Basics™. For further goldfish environment enhancement, use Gold Trace™ to restore the proper level of trace elements and feed NutriDiet® Goldfish Flakes for thriving, healthy goldfish.
Directions
Use 18 g (1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons). Use when setting up an aquarium and when making water changes. To add salt to an established tank, do so gradually. It is best to dissolve the salt in a small amount of freshwater before use. Avoid using salt when replacing evaporated water.
| Overview
Acid Buffer™ is a non–phosphate buffer to lower pH and buffer with Alkaline Buffer™. Both buffers are designed for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem. Acid Buffer™ lowers pH and buffers between 6.0 and 8.0 when used with Alkaline Buffer™. As Acid Buffer™ lowers pH it converts carbonate alkalinity (KH) into available CO2.
Directions
To lower pH, use 1/4 teaspoon (2g) for every 80 L (20 US gallons) daily until desired pH is reached (this dose lowers alkalinity by about 0.2 meq/L (0.6 dKH)). Larger doses may be required in very hard (KH) or alkaline waters. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale.
In order to adjust pH gradually, or if water is soft or not well buffered, use Acid Buffer™ with Alkaline Buffer™. When using Alkaline Buffer™ & Acid Buffer™ together to target a specific pH, utilize the suggested ratio chart.
HINT: First determine the amount of Alkaline Buffer™ needed for the volume of water. This should be determined based upon your desired alkalinity (KH). Then, divide by the number in the middle column to obtain the correct amount of Acid Buffer™ required.
This chart is based on use in RO or RO/DI water and ratios may need to be adjusted for use in tap water.

Fresh Trace™ supplies a broad range of trace elements demonstrated* to be necessary for proper fish health and growth. Unlike terrestrial animals, fish obtain nutrients from both their food and environment. Trace elements are normally depleted by utilization, oxidation and precipitation, thus it is important to restore them on a regular basis. Fresh Trace™ contains only those elements actually demonstrated* to be required by fish.

Directions
Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 80 L (20 US gallons) twice a week. Feed NutriDiet® Tropical Flakes for optimal fish health.
