SEACHEM REEF ADVANTAGE STRONTIUM 300 g
- Restores and maintains strontium to levels found in natural sea water
- Dry strontium chloride
- Vitally important in preventing ionic imbalance
Overview
Strontium occurs in natural seawater at a concentration of about 8 to 10 mg/L. It is chemically very similar to calcium, and many organisms incorporate it in their skeletons along with calcium. Its addition to reef aquariums aids the growth of corals, coralline algae and other organisms that lay down a calcereous skeleton or shell, including tridacnid clams.
Reef Advantage Strontium™ restores and maintains strontium to levels found in natural sea water. Strontium is utilized by corals in the same manner as calcium and holds a similar importance in maintaining a vigorous level of growth. It is most useful in densely populated aquariums requiring a continuous supply of strontium. Reef Advantage Strontium™ is a highly concentrated (30,000 ppm), ionically balanced strontium supplement.
Unlike other strontium chloride products, Reef Advantage Strontium™ is formulated so that it can be added directly to the aquarium. Competing products require one to mix a separate solution before adding it to the system.
Directions
Beginner
Use 6 g (1 level teaspoon) per 150 L (40 gallons) twice a week. May be added directly to aquarium. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale.
Advanced
Check strontium level (use Reef Status™ Strontium to test strontium levels), then follow addition regimen above until strontium is adjusted to 8–12 mg/L. Each 6 g/150 L will raise strontium by about 2 mg/L. Amount or frequency can be adjusted as needed. Thereafter, use as required to maintain strontium.
Expert
After determining the strontium depletion rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula (or skip the math and use our Dosage Calculator) to determine how much to add to your top-off water: m=vs/30 (m=grams to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in liters, s=amount to raise strontium in mg/L). For example, if you want to raise strontium by 6 mg/L in a 200 L aquarium, then you would add (200×6)/30=40 g into the top-off water. [For reference: 1 gallon = 3.8 liters]. Use the Reef Status™: Strontium test kit to check strontium levels.
DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess strontium may enhance the loss of carbonate alkalinity. Do not directly mix with any carbonate supplement. Best if strontium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.

Reef Phytoplankton™ is a concentrated blend of green and brown marine phytoplankton designed to provide the essential fatty acids, proteins, vitamins, amino acids, with biological carotenoids for invertebrate diet. Size ranges from 1-20 μm to feed a broad range of tropical marine aquarium filter feeders and invertebrates.
Reef Phytoplankton™ contains a natural source of carotenoids which provides essential proteins as well as a more bioavailable source of pigmentation when compared to other natural sources and synthetic pigments. Carotenoids provide the extra benefit of antioxidant activity.
In addition, Reef Phytoplankton™ is enhanced to increase the bioavailability of important nutrients such as proteins, lipids, B vitamins, and other organic pigments, thus, corals expend less energy to derive the nutritional benefit.
It is blended to contain the proper ratio of fatty acids, carbohydrates, and proteins. Blending phytoplankton yields better nutritional value. Studies * show increased consumption of phytoplankton in filter feeders when using mixed cultures versus a single culture of phytoplankton.
Directions
Shake well before using. Add 1 capful (5 mL) per 200 L (50 US gallons) of water twice weekly or as required to maintain coral growth. For best results, dose directly to aquarium; target feeding can overwhelm corals and have a negative impact. Refrigeration after opening is recommended, but not required.

Safe™ is the complete and super-concentrated dry conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Safe™ removes chlorine, chloramine and detoxifies ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. It is non-acidic and will not impact pH. A further bonus for the reef hobbyist—Safe™ will not over-activate skimmers.
Safe™ may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. It contains a binder which renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water. When transporting or quarantining fish, use Seachem StressGuard™. When adding new fish, use Stability®. Both are ideal for use with Safe™.
Directions
May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite and nitrate in an emergency, up to 4 times normal dose may be used. If temperature is > 30 °C (86 °F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.
50 gramUse 200 mg of Safe™ (included scoop) per each 200 L (50 US gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or per 50 L (13 US gallons) for ammonia. NOTE: These directions supersede all other prior packaging. All other sizesUse 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 1,250 L (300 US gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 300 L (75 US gallons) for ammonia. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale. NOTE: These directions supersede all other prior packaging. | Overview
Gold Salt™ is designed to provide the optimal environment for all goldfish species. The use of Gold Salt™ also aids in the prevention of nitrite poisoning. The salt is also well suited for routine aquarium freshwater use. It does not impact pH or provide buffering. For pH control use Gold Buffer™. For dechlorination use Gold Basics™. For further goldfish environment enhancement, use Gold Trace™ to restore the proper level of trace elements and feed NutriDiet® Goldfish Flakes for thriving, healthy goldfish.
Directions
Use 18 g (1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons). Use when setting up an aquarium and when making water changes. To add salt to an established tank, do so gradually. It is best to dissolve the salt in a small amount of freshwater before use. Avoid using salt when replacing evaporated water.
| Overview
Reef Kalkwasser™ is a pure calcium hydroxide with unsurpassed purity and solubility characteristics. Calcium hydroxide is used to prepare limewater (kalkwasser) solutions that will maintain calcium concentrations at natural seawater levels. Kalkwasser solutions maintain calcium directly and carbonate alkalinity indirectly. However, its capacity to perform these functions is dependent on evaporation rate and CO2 concentration. If these two factors are insufficient you can provide additional calcium with Reef Advantage Calcium™, Reef Complete™, or Reef Calcium™, and carbonate alkalinity with Reef Builder™ or Reef Carbonate™ (do not mix these directly with a kalkwasser solution).
While Reef Kalkwasser™ is a high purity and economical limewater mix, the beginner, or someone with not as much time to devote to their system, may prefer to use other less involved methods for maintaining proper ionic concentration levels.
Directions
Never add this product directly to the tank. Add 3 g (1 teaspoon) to 4 L (1 US gallon) of water and mix to dissolve. If using pure water, a fully saturated solution is prepared by adding 6 g (2 teaspoons) to 4 L (1 US gallon). Drip this solution into tank. Monitor pH and carbonate alkalinity. Adjust rate of addition to maintain a stable pH (8.3–8.4). Notes: Adding 4 L (1 US gallon) of a saturated kalkwasser solution to 150 L (40 US gallons) will raise calcium by 24 mg/L. Always use the clear supernatant (top solution) only and do not allow undissolved material to enter the aquarium. Keep this container tightly closed when not in use and minimize solution/air contact to avoid calcium carbonate formation/precipitation.
